14 Body Care Hacks For Irresistibly Glowing Skin

We often focus so much on our face, but glowing skin isn’t just for your face—it’s for your whole body! In this post, I’ll share the best body care routine for glowing skin (and some of the best products).

Think about the radiant, dewy skin celebrities flaunt on the red carpet. I always wanted to know what they used to get that glow.

The Best Body Care Routine for Glowing Skin

Achieving glowing skin comes down to a few essentials: keeping your skin healthy, exfoliated, and hydrated. But why stop there? I don’t just want soft, healthy skin – I want it to glisten and glow!

I have scoured the internet and Reddit forums for the best tips and have incorporated each one into my body care routine.

Want to know my ultimate secret?

I treat the skin on my body just like I do my face. I use toner, Serums, and Exfoliation—all of it!

Plus, treating your body is always a fantastic way to use up excess products that you don’t want to go to waste.

Below, I’ve outlined the “all-out” routine. While you don’t need to follow it daily or all in the same day. Incorporating most of these tips regularly can lead to remarkable results.

Dry Brush

Dry brushing your body gently exfoliates the skin’s surface and boosts blood circulation. This helps to remove dead skin cells and promotes cell turnover for a smoother, more even skin tone.

Dry brushing also stimulates lymphatic drainage, reducing puffiness and promoting detoxification, leaving your skin looking tighter and more toned.

Celebrities like Miranda Kerr, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Jennifer Aniston are gushing about how it gives their skin that extra glow and makes them feel refreshed inside and out.

I have very fair skin (practically transparent-like), and a good dry brushing session stimulates blood flow, which makes my skin look thicker and non-transparent.

Glycolic Acid Cleanser

Upgrade your body care routine with a glycolic acid body wash that cleanses and exfoliates in one step. Glycolic acid, an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA), gently sloughs away dead skin cells, promoting cell turnover and revealing fresher, smoother skin beneath.

This active ingredient helps to improve skin texture, reduce the appearance of dark spots, and enhance your skin’s natural radiance. Like your facial skincare, using a body wash with active ingredients ensures that your entire body benefits from targeted treatments, leaving you with a more even, glowing complexion.

If you have Keratosis Pilaris, using an AHA-based acid cleaner effectively eliminates the bumpy skin!

I use good glycolic acid cleaners 2-3x a week and then rotate with my usual body washes.

Fine Grain Exfoliant

Incorporate a fine-grain exfoliant like the Lancer Body Polish Scrub for a truly glowing body, technically made for the face. Unlike standard body scrubs which can be too rough and abrasive, this gentle exfoliant uses ultra-fine grains to polish your skin without irritating it.

Adding this to your body care routine will help unclog pores and smooth the skin’s surface. I use it two days a week (usually when I use it on my face). I purchase the jumbo size and mix it with my body wash.

Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizer

Incorporate a hyaluronic acid-based moisturizer for plump, healthy skin while your skin is still slightly damp. I learned this tip from Dr. Dray years ago and haven’t looked back.

Hyaluronic acid can hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water, making it super effective at keeping skin hydrated and dewy. Applying it to damp skin right after a shower helps draw moisture into the skin, which plumps and smooths the skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines and creating a luminous, dewy finish.

Adding hyaluronic acid to your body care routine is a game-changer for maintaining soft, radiant skin.

I like the Neutrogena Hydro Gel (I purchase it in bulk and slather it all over my face and body). This one is great for all skin types and doesn’t include fragrance – an added bonus for sensitive skin. I also love the Laneige Water Bank Moisturizer. It’s pricer so I use this on my face, chest, and hands primarily.

Vitamin C Treatment

We all love Vitamin C for its brightening properties on our faces, but why stop there?! A vitamin C treatment or serum can do wonders for your skin.

Vitamin C is an antioxidant that evens skin tone, gets rid of dark spots, and boosts collagen. The result? A more uniform, brighter, and younger-looking complexion ALL OVER.

Some vitamin C serums are pricey – I like to use a more affordable one for all over the body, like the Timeless Vitamin C Serum.

Apply in the morning and avoid mixing with retinol, AHAs/BHAs, or niacinamide products.

AHA / BHA Acid Treatment

To keep your body skin glowing and smooth, incorporating an AHA/BHA acid treatment (chemical exfoliants) into your routine will give you a healthy glow.

Alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) like glycolic acid exfoliate the surface of your skin, removing dead skin cells and revealing a brighter complexion.

Beta hydroxy acids (BHAs) like salicylic acid penetrate deeper, clearing out pores and preventing breakouts.

This combination improves skin texture and promotes cell turnover, giving you that radiant glow.

Avoid mixing AHA/BSHs with vitamin C, Retinol, and other exfoliants to prevent over-exfoliation and irritation.

However, regularly using AHA/BHA treatments can keep your skin looking fresh, smooth, and luminous while avoiding irritation by carefully rotating with other active ingredients.

I love using inexpensive glycolic acid on my body several times a week. I will use a larger cotton pad or get a small spray bottle, mist all over my body, and let it soak in.

Do you have oily or acne-prone skin? Use salicylic acid. I keep a small spray bottle of this in the summer and spray it on my back to remove excess oil and prevent “backne” (back acne).

Kojic Acid Soap

Got stubborn dark spots in tricky areas? Kojic Acid soap is the best-kept secret for brightening those hard-to-tackle spots like underarms, inner thighs, and even “down there.” It’s also great for stretch marks.

Kojic acid, derived from mushrooms, inhibits melanin production, helping to fade hyperpigmentation and even out skin tone.

Regular use will leave those dark areas looking brighter and more even, giving you gloriously radiant and even skin. And don’t worry—it’s gentle enough for daily use on your most sensitive spots.

Fun fact: it’s even a favorite among strippers for maintaining flawless skin.

Tone and Tighten

For those looking for a little extra help firming and sculpting their body while achieving glowing skin, the NuFACE Body Toning Device is a fun addition to your routine.

This innovative device uses microcurrent technology to stimulate the muscles and skin, promoting tighter, more lifted skin.  Just note – it has to be done consistently.

I have both the regular NuFace for the face and the body. For a long time, I tried using my NuFace on my body. Don’t do that! It took way too long. The NuFace Body device is larger and specifically designed for the body.

Afterward, add a peptide or caffeine-based body cream or serum to help tone and tighten the skin.

Caffeine is known for improving circulation and reducing the appearance of cellulite, while peptides help skin elasticity and firmness.

Rich Body Butter Treatment

My favorite step in any body skin care routine is a luxurious body butter that hydrates and nourishes dry skin, leaving it silky, smooth, and luminous.

Go for a rich cream enriched with shea butter, cocoa butter, or coconut oil, which provides intense hydration and improves skin elasticity.

Massage the body butter into your skin using gentle, circular motions to promote circulation and help it sink into the skin.

Body Oil

A good body oil will give your skin an instant radiant glow. I like to mix body oil with my favorite moisturizer or wear it as a topper to make the skin glisten.

Like a hyaluronic acid moisturizer, massage the oil into damp skin after bathing to lock in moisture and leave your skin feeling soft, smooth, and glowy.

Some good picks include argan oil, jojoba oil, or plain vitamin E oil. These lightweight yet hydrating oils penetrate the skin quickly, delivering nutrients and antioxidants for improved skin health.

Retinol

Retinol is the gold standard for anti-aging—did you know you can also use it all over the body?

Retinol, a form of vitamin A, increases collagen production, smooths out wrinkles, and leaves your skin looking and feeling fantastic.

Start with a low concentration to let your skin get comfy, then slowly amp it up to avoid irritation. Consistent use of retinol will keep your skin looking fresh, youthful, and radiant.

Sometimes my prescription retinol is too harsh for my face so I’ll use it on my body instead.

There are plenty of retinol-specific lotions on the market for the body. Here is one my favorites that are inexpensive and easy to find:

Sun Protection

Biggest regret in my 20s and 30s? Forgetting to apply sunscreen to my body.

Never skip sun protection, and don’t forget exposed areas of your body like your shoulders, arms, and hands, even on cloudy days!

Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher to shield your skin from harmful UV rays and prevent premature aging and sun damage.

Sunscreen blocks UV rays from penetrating the skin, helping to prevent sunburn, premature aging, and skin cancer.

Over time, consistent SPF use will fade existing sun damage and prevent new damage from occurring.

Laser Hair Removal

I won’t sugarcoat it—laser hair removal is EXPENSIVE, but it’s so worth it. It has been my all-time favorite beauty investment.

I had one session for my underarms a couple of years back, and I was instantly hooked. I had them do my entire body – everywhere!

No more shaving, waxing, ingrown hairs, strawberry legs, or having to time my self-tanner routine perfectly. Ugh.

Get the laser hair removal.

Laser hair removal isn’t just about removing unwanted hair—it makes your skin smoother by reducing ingrown hairs and get’s rid of “strawberry legs”.

Plus, the long-lasting results mean you can enjoy silky smooth skin without the hassle of shaving or waxing.

Hydration

Lastly, remember to hydrate from the inside out by drinking plenty of water throughout the day.

Staying hydrated is essential for maintaining healthy, glowing skin. Hydrated skin is more resilient, plump, and radiant, with fewer signs of aging, such as fine lines and wrinkles.

I like a good electrolyte powder for optimal hydration, and I mix this in my morning glass of water.

In addition to drinking water, incorporate a healthy diet with antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables to boost your skin’s moisture levels and promote a youthful, glowing complexion.
