Summer Beauty Empties: The Products I Actually Finished and Loved

I’m trying really hard to use up my endless pile of beauty products so every season I look back at what I’ve actually finished.

These are the products that earned a spot in my daily routine long enough to disappear completely. Here’s what I used up this summer and what I’d reach for again.

Skincare, Haircare, and Makeup Empties

Dove Deep Moisture Body Wash

Beauty empties

This one was a total comfort product. Creamy, rich, and exactly what dry skin want. I liked it all season, but I’d especially recommend it for cooler months when skin starts feeling tight and thirsty. Affordable, easy to find, and leaves skin soft without any residue. Solid standby.

Lancer The Method: Polish

lancer exfoliator review

I’ve used this exfoliator for years and still haven’t found anything quite like it. The texture is super fine—none of those harsh, scratchy particles like the old-school apricot scrub. It’s gentle enough for regular use but still makes a visible difference in tone and texture. Definitely a forever favorite.

e.l.f. Whoa Glow Sunscreen

summer makeup products

I’ve already talked about this a ton. If you like the Supergoop Glow Screen, you’ll love this. It gives a natural sheen that makes skin look healthy, not greasy, and the formula feels light enough to wear under makeup. I love that I can bring it down my neck, chest, and shoulders without feeling wasteful because the price is reasonable.

Side note: when did e.l.f. start creeping up in price? Fifteen dollars feels steep for them, but it’s still less than half the cost of Supergoop. I’ll be buying this again next summer.

Lash Paradise Mascara

project pan reviews

My holy grail. It’s the one mascara I can count on for fluffy, full lashes that don’t clump or flake. I’ve tried pricier versions, but this one always wins. It gives that lifted, soft finish that makes you look more awake. Always in my makeup bag.

MAC Cremesheen Gloss

The fact that I finished a lip gloss says everything. I never finish glosses. This one is creamy, smooth, and has that nostalgic vanilla scent MAC is known for. Not sticky, not heavy, just the perfect gloss you can wear alone or over lipstick.

Sadly…it’s discontinued now :(.

However, the next best thing that’s even less expensive? THIS Maybelline Lifter Gloss. It’s been in heavy rotation for several months.

Vacation Super Spritz – SPF 50 Face Mist

skincare routine mistakes

I used this a lot more than I thought I would. It’s a fine mist that feels refreshing instead of sticky, and it layers well over makeup without ruining your face halfway through the day. The scent is to die for! You’ll love it if you like that tropical beach smell. This will be a summer staple for sure.

Beauty of Joseon Sunscreen

I have more of these than I care to admit—minis, full sizes, you name it. The formula is weightless, almost invisible on the skin, and gives solid UV protection without that white cast. It’s one of those sunscreens that makes you want to actually wear SPF daily, which is saying something.

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil

gentle cleansing oil for mature skin

This is always in my empties lineup. I’ve tried cleansing balms and trendy oil cleansers, but this one always comes back into rotation. The pump bottle is easy, the formula melts makeup instantly, and it rinses clean without that greasy film. If you wear SPF and mascara daily, you need this.

Moroccanoil Treatment (Mini)

best hair oil

A classic for a reason. I’ve repurchased this countless times because it smells amazing and smooths my fine, thin hair without flattening it. I use it on damp ends, as an overnight treatment, or just to calm frizz on humid days. It’s one of those rare hair products that always behaves.

This pile of empties sums up my summer pretty well, and luckily every single one was a win. No misses this time. If I’m cutting tubes open to get every last bit, that says it all.

I’ll be sharing a full beauty empties breakdown every few months, so there’s more to come.
